With the arrival of our little man happening any day now {woohoo!}, it’s time I share his sweet nursery. It’s been finished for about a month now but my lack of energy/time has prevented me from sharing it until now. We kept it very soft and neutral, as is the rest of our house, and I love how it all came together. We threw a few “boyish” touches in and it looks so sweet across the hall from Molly’s pink polka-dot big girl room.
These sweet airplanes hang above his crib. There is a cedar wall art that will adorn his name once he arrives. The airplanes are hung by fishing wire and clear push pins in the ceiling. They are sort of like a mobile and I love the fun they bring to the room. I used leftover paints we had laying around so there is variation in the planes.
The planked walls were a pretty simple DIY. We bought 4 sheets of 4’x8′ MDF at Home Depot and had them rip the boards into 8″ pieces. Mike simply sprayed the boards using our paint sprayer and then used his nail gun to attach them to the walls and used a nickel as a spacer. We used a 2″ board as the top rail piece and some quarter round underneath to finish it off.
Isn’t it sweet? We DIY’d the planked walls, book bins, cedar name frame {which will remain empty until he arrives and we can share his name up there}, and the model airplanes. This little man has a beautiful place to come home to and this momma has some pretty views to sit around and feed him in:) We can’t wait to meet him!

This is gorgeous - I think the planes above the bed are my favorite, but I love the maps and the color of the wood pieces, too. Just such a peaceful and calm space.
Thanks, Kim! The planes are my favorite part too:)
