Remember last week when I showed you our messy entryway? Well I fancied it up this weekend. The totes were a huge improvement as far as organization goes, but it still wasn’t very pretty. With some leftover gray linen fabric and my sewing machine, I was able to create a simple skirt to cover the totes under the nook.
Better right? Ignore the wrinkly fabric-irnoning first would have been way too much work:) We did something similar at our last house as well. In our kitchen we had a nook where we built a desk from an old door and used the underneath as outdoor cushion storage. You can read the full tutorial on how to make this skirted area yourself. So, we’ve gone from this:
How do you hide clutter when you are short on storage?
Oh, and just as an ironic side note, this was my fatal mistake this winter. Typically we love 2-hour delays and the occasional snow day around here, but this year it has been out.of.control. If this house gets built in 2014, I will be pleasantly surprised:)
