DIY Stocking Holder

It’s that time of the year-Christmas projects! I have a few more that I’ll be working on this holiday weekend coming your way, but today I have a super simple DIY tutorial to share for those of you who don’t have a fireplace. Fortunately for us, we do still have a small mantle and {fake} fireplace in our apartment, but where do you hang your stockings if you don’t? Santa has to find you somewhere:) A co-worker of Mike’s found a picture of a cute stocking holder and asked him if he could make something similar for her and her kids. It turned out really cute!
To make this you’ll need the following:
- 2-1″x4″ pine boards
- 1″x6″ pine board
- paint color of your choice
- nail gun/nails
- hangers
- drill
Mike measured the wood and cute four pieces at different sizes-two were cut from the 6″ board and 2 were cut from the 4″ board.
Then he used his Saw Max to cut them.
Once they were all cut, we laid them out on newspaper and painted them a light gray color.
Then, using the nail gun, we attached the front boards to the back boards {made of the 4″ wide board”}.
The last step was to attach the hangers by drilling them into the boards with the screws that came with them.
It was a quick project {about 30 minutes to complete}, inexpensive, and turned out really cute!
Where do you hang your stockings? Be sure to come back next week for more Christmas ideas and tomorrow for a big update on our house!

What a great idea!! I will be doing this ASAP
I love this idea! Especially because fireplaces in Manhattan are few and far (far) between! Yes, please!
