Wood Sliced Photo Display

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTape brand painter’s tape for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
f you follow me on Instagram, you know I like to snap tons of pictures of sweet Miss Molly. Rather than hoarding them on my phone and on Instagram, I decided to make a little display to share them in a little art work.
I started by grabbing a scrap piece of wood from our organization station. We cut it into a rectangle and I started painting it with a sample paint pot we had on hand {the color wasn’t listed}.
Once it was all painted, I let it dry for about 2 hours.
I was able to try out the new Frog Tape® Shape Tape™ for this project and it was awesome. It was super easy to use and made perfect lines. The Shape Tape has the same Paintblock® technology as the regular Frog Tape® which prevents paint bleed and keeps the lines crisp. It comes in Scallop, Wavy, and Chevron. I went with the scallop design and love how it turned out.
It comes in a roll of the shape you show.
I started at the bottom of my board by laying the tape along the edge as a straight line and peeled the back as I went.
I measured out an inch in between each row.
When I had all the rows laid out, I painted over top with another paint. This was the chalk paint I used in this tutorial.
I rolled a couple of coats of paint on and then peeled it before it dried completely. I got a little nervous when I saw the bubbled tape that it would have bled through, but it didn’t. I was happy when I saw the perfect lines as I peeled it.
Then it was time to add my wood slices to hang the pictures from. Mike cut more slices from the log we used for my wood sliced wreath.
We nailed them onto the board once it was dry.
I bought some cute little clips in the scrapbook section of Target and hot glued them onto each slice of wood.
They look great on the scalloped wood and the pictures add a little something too:)
I printed my pictures online and picked them up the next day.
