Mini-Babymoon Recap

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, Mike and I took a long weekend trip to Cincinnati as a little last getaway before Baby H. arrives. There were a few things I wanted to get at Ikea and this is the closest one {about two hours away} so we decided to make a weekend of it. We stayed downtown and had a great view of the city. {FYI-we didn’t take our camera so bare with me through the iPhone pics}
Saturday was shopping day. We spent the majority of the day perusing Ikea and stuffing our cart full of goodies. Pudge had a slight panic attack at my parents {they were dog sitting} and may or may not have ripped up part of their carpet while we were gone. Needless to say, a rug was purchased to help “fix” his moment of insanity.
We just so happened to be there on free lunch day! If you spent $100 that day, you got reimbursed for your lunch. Obviously we felt the need to overspend {and overeat} since it was on Ikea. I’m sure we burned off the calories with all that shopping:)
I fell in love with this Pudge look-a-like and had to get it for Baby H. I think she’ll love it:)
There is a Ballard Designs and Front Gate outlet near the Ikea so we decided to go shop around there. Randomly, we ended up with a Christmas tree.
I have always been anti-fake trees, but somehow Mike convinced me to get this one. A $700 tree marked down to $500, plus an additional 75% off=a gorgeous pre-lit tree for $125. I just can’t pass up a deal:) One more score from Ikea was this hanging drying rack. I love that it clears off our pretty concrete counters, but is still functional and actually kind of pretty.
The rest of the weekend was spent sight-seeing around the city and eating lots of good food.
And took dessert to go. There’s nothing like eating yummy cheesecake in a super comfortable hotel bed while watching a chick flick with my hubby:)
It was a great weekend!
You guys are too cute.
oh. i just LOVED this post.
and poor pudge! thankfully he is so darn cute it makes up for his sometimes-not-so-great ways of showing his love.
Haha yes. That cute face saves him every time:) Lucky dog…
