Winter Soups

With frigid temps around here lately, we’ve been filling our bellies up with lots of soup. Actually, I think we ate soup 3 different times last week and had some again last night. It’s becoming a “thing.” So, since we are now soup aficionados, I thought I’d share a few of our new favorites.
1. Lasagna Soup. This is from the Deen brothers so you know it’s delicious:) It’s also low-cal and full of good stuff for you. Highly recommend this one.
2. Chicken, Veggie, and Noodle Soup. This one is also healthy with all the veggies thrown in. I like to use homemade noodles instead of store-bought egg {although we’ve had it with egg noodles and they are also yummy} which takes it to a whole other level of yumminess.
3. The best chili. This technically isn’t a soup, but it’s a super-easy and delicious chili. We made a big pot awhile ago and froze it and it kept great.
4. Cheesy Veggie Chowder. This is like a broccoli and cheese soup, but with a lot more veggies. I also add chicken for a little extra protein. Delish.
And the perfect side is the absolutely amazing homemade bread. We could eat this stuff everyday. Last time I made this we made a couple extra loafs and froze them so we could pull them out to go with all of our soups these days and it defrosted really well. Tasted just like the fresh bread.
What are some of your favorite soups?
Def going to try the cheesy veg chowder…. Can you send me the link for your bread recipe? I made a beer bread a few weeks ago to go with lasagna soup- soup was great but wasn’t so crazy bout the bread…
Thanks for the soup suggestions…
Hi Kelly! Here is the bread recipe link: http://chickensintheroad.com/cooking/grandmother-bread/.
i make a turkey sausage, kale soup with white beans. it maybe doesn’t sound very good but it’s a play on an italian wedding soup, loaded with protein and it is sooo good!
Yum, that sounds delish!
