Day 5: 31 Days and 5 Things About Us
October 5, 2012 | Posted by Jessie under 31 Days to an Imperfect Family and Home, Us |
I’m wrapping up my first week of my 31 Days to an Imperfect Family and Home series, where I’m sharing a more personal side of our household. I thought today it would be fun to tell you guys 5 things that others may not know about Mike and I. I wrote the 5 things about him and he wrote the 5 things about me, which was sort of a fun little game to play:)
5 Things You May Not Know About Mike {written by Jessie}:
- He rolls his eyes every time I come up with some other cutesy idea {like this post:)}, but doesn’t hesitate to participate and help me out. He even drew, cut out, and hung out the equal sign, plus sign, and 3 from our pregnancy announcement
which, to me, means he actually secretly likes it all, but has to act like a tough guy who doesn’t like cutesy stuff{that’s the real #1}. Basically #1 is that he is a wonderful, supportive husband, but you may have already known that:) - He hates painting. Any room makeover that is done around here is typically painted by me. Mike will chip in for the trim work, but other than that, I’m on my own. It works out well, because I actually like it. He loves to build things and is great at figuring out ways to create some of the crazy ideas that I come up with. I guess that’s why we make a good team:)
- He’s the calm in the storm. No matter how worked up or stressed out I get about something, he always stays calm and is the voice of reason. He’s very good at comforting, advising, and just being there. He’s always level-headed and I love that about him.
- The man loves food. Just about anything I cook, he devours a couple servings of. And he isn’t picky. He’ll eat anything I put on his plate {and luckily loves dessert as much as I do!}
- He’s going to be a great daddy. The reason I know is because he’s a wonderful dog-daddy. He loves that puppy more than I ever thought he would and is such a caring, gentle man. This tiny baby is one lucky little lime-sized life:)
5 Things You May Not Know About Jessie {written by Mike}:
1. She’s very creative and ambitious. You would think that after a big project, one would like to rest a little and take a season off of work. Not her, she’s already got the next one in mind and wants it done yesterday. I can be a procrastinator so it works out that she is like that, keeps us working together and getting projects done.
2. She loves Pudge more than a human should love an animal. Well maybe not more, but at least as much. She thinks everything he does is the cutest thing ever and makes sure that I pay attention to it all. She takes pictures upon pictures of him doing the same thing he did yesterday and the day before. I wonder how its going to be with our baby
3. She’s a great teacher. She loves her kids and really cares. Sometimes, probably more than their own parents. I think it goes back to her go-get-em nature, but she always wants to be better, teach more, be kinder…
4. She’s very strong. No, not physically. I can kick her butt very easily. She has a strong will though. She can be a tough nut to crack sometimes but she really keeps it held together when things aren’t going well. She stayed as strong as anyone could during a year and half of trying to get pregnant.
5. She is a great wife. She loves me when I am difficult and annoying. She’s going to be a great mother. And, as mentioned before, she’s a great cook which keeps me healthy.
Fun, right? Anything that surprises you?
Have a great weekend!
Nothing surprising to me…I knew you were both great! I love hearing you say it about each other though.
No surprise here either, you are both fantastic. I do think it would be impossible however to take too many pictures of Pudge! That same philosophy goes for the baby, I’m counting on pictures galore please.
you two are such a cute couple… congrats on your pregnancy…our dog Balboa is my first baby.
