Laundry Room Reveal!
June 11, 2012 | Posted by Jessie under Before and After, Laundry |
Hi everyone!
Today is the day. The laundry room is finished. Yay! We crammed a few DIY projects into this space that I’ll share over the next week or two, but today is picture day. Enjoy:)
Before we get to the all the pretty “afters”, let’s stroll down memory lane and see the disaster it was before.
Then I cleared it out and it was a slight improvement…
And now it’s much improved:) New cabinets, new paint color, and lots of pretty accessories. I’ll warn you, the picture quality isn’t the best. No natural light in the room or nearby=weird colored pics, but I tried my best.
And just one more quick before and after for fun:
I’ll have the complete how-to on the drying rack, cabinet painting, rope vases, and lots of details on the accessories. Your turn. Much better? Any laundry room improvements you’d like to share of your own!?

It looks awesome, Jess! I love the drying rack!
Thanks, Kristen!
Looks great! I love closed cabinets in laundry rooms
You probably mentioned this in another Laundry Room post and I missed it - but how big is your room? Just curious because it looks SO much bigger with the cabinets/countertop at the end compared to the “before” picture!
Thanks, Ash! The room is about 6′x8′ and it feels so much bigger! I think it’s probably because there is a lot more room to walk around without all that cluttery mess:)
Holy smokes!
That’s the same size as my laundry room and it definitely isn’t as spacious looking as yours! guess I should get on that… haha
I love the cabinetry color. And keeping all your junkola hidden in the laundry room is so great! Beautiful job!
Thank you, Kim! I’m excited about the cabinets too-at least it will look nice and uncluttered:)
It looks great! So much prettier and more functional too! I love the color on the cabinets and the drying rack is awesome. Have a great day!

Thank you, Ellie!
I love your Life Gets Messy sign
and I think your laundry room looks great! I wish we had one that big.
Ours is just a little closet in our dining room so everything always spills out into the rest of the house.
Thanks, Hilary! I don’t think it matters the size…ours always spilt out too:) I’m hoping the new cabinets will at least hide some of our messiness. We’ll see:)
WOW! What a huge difference! It looks just beautiful and I love the colors you used! That room was definitely worth the hard work; great job you two!!
Its lovely!
Thanks:)
[...] It’s laundry room tutorial time! I’m starting off with one of my favorite projects in the room: the drying rack. We wanted a simple look that would fit the color scheme and feel of the rest of the room. [...]
Really cute makeover. I love the vintage laundry art. I am about to redo my laundry in the next little while and am collecting inspiration.
Thanks, Dee! Good luck with your project!
Looks great. I have that weird corner between the cabinet and machines too!! i have no idea what to do with it.
Haha it is a weird configuration. We stuck a laundry basket back there for dirty towels:)
Jessie, I love your new laundry room. Everything turned out great. Stopping over from Serenity Now.
Aw, thanks, Jen!
Looks really nice!
Thank you!
Your laundry looks great! I love the color that you chose for the cabinets. I am looking to redo my laundry room soon and this post is inspiring me to get going. Enjoy! Megan
Thanks, Megan! Good luck with your redo!

Thank you, Brooke!

What a great place to do laundry. Now laundry gets a bit better to do. I like the colors you picked. Very calming. I finally emptied my laundry room of all the craft supplies {moved them upstairs to a new craft area} and love that I have my laundry room back. Now to get some washing done.
Thanks, Jeannette! I agree, it’s so nice to have a laundry room where you can actually get to the laundry!
It’s lovely! What a transformation!
Thank you, Taryn!

[...] Hi everyone! You may or may not have noticed that there has been a little bit of a lag here on the blog lately. We got back yesterday from a 12 day vacation {where I stayed away from the internet as much as possible} and as much fun as we had, I can definitely say there’s no place like home:) In a nutshell, I spent 2 days in Atlanta for the Haven conference and had an absolute blast, learned lots of stuff, and made some great new friends. Mike met me there on the last day of the conference and we set off the next morning for Hilton Head. We spent 5 days playing on the beach and relaxing. It was wonderful:) Then we headed to Gatlinburg for 4 days to meet up with my whole family to celebrate my grandparent’s 60th wedding anniversary. I’ll have the longer version coming in the next week or two with plenty of pics and travel tips to share. So from Hotlanta, to the beach to the mountains, we covered a lot of ground over the last week and a half and were exhausted when we got home. After a 3 hour family nap, we are starting to feel like ourselves again:) My plan for today…catching up on lots of trashy reality tv, editing tons of vacation pics, and buying food for our empty kitchen! Don’t worry though, I have lots of blog posts and DIY projects lined up to make up for my lack of blogging lately! Starting today with a project I shared over at the CSI Project last week. It’s one last fun laundry project… [...]
