Valentine Buffet Decor

I’m not a “decorate the house for every little holiday” type person, but I was itching to do a little crafting recently and decided to make a few things to sit out on our dining room buffet for Valentine’s Day. It’s been bare since Christmas so this was the perfect excuse to liven it up again. I started with a quick trip to the Dollar Tree to grab some supplies.
I started with 4 different shaped/sized silver plates. I took the “Love You Forever” garland and cut off the letters I wanted to use.
These silver plates are so great, I plan on reusing them later so I simply taped the letters to the plates so they could be easily removed.
Next, I took two books {also from the Dollar Tree}…
I used some wrapping paper to give them a little romantic shimmer and wrapped them up like a gift.
Everything else in my little vignette I already had on hand. I played around with a few different looks and thought I would share them all with you. I started out simple, just adding in my cake stands from my Christmas buffet with some candy hearts in a dish on each. I also threw the red flower I wore in my hair at our wedding for a punch of color and some sentimental value.
Then I added in my twiggy vases from the Christmas mantle for some extra height {sorry about the lighting change and awful glares-it got dark and had to flip on the lights:)}.
But I think my favorite is this symmetrical look.
We may just have to have a romantic dinner in the dining room to enjoy all the “love”liness {cheeesy, I know. But that’s what Valentine’s Day is about right?}.

Hi, Jessie
What a lovely idea and so inexpensive too. Thanks for sharing.
Vanessa
This is amazing! I love the creativity and the simplisty in it yet it is still so cute and classy. I don’t like all the in your face valentines decor but this is so elegantly and tastefully done.
Thanks, Kylee! That’s what I was going for:)
I love the symmetry also - plus wrapping the books in wrapping paper is so clever!
Thanks, Laurel!
This is so fun! I love how you wrapped up the books. Would you be willing to link this up to my Valentine Link Party? I’d love to have you! http://michellepaige.blogspot.com/2012/01/rockin-valentine-valentine-link-party.html
Thanks! I just linked up:)
Thanks for taking the time to link up to my Valentine Party! I just love your idea!
Very cute and a clever idea adding the letters to those trays like that!
What a good idea to use the letters from that banner and fix them so you could use them again. Your buffet looks so festive.
So sweet! Love this mantel! What a great idea!
