Woodsy Jewelry Holder

When I was in Austin last month, I saw this adorable jewelry display in a boutique {sorry, I didn’t snap a pic} of necklaces hung from little twigs. I thought it was so sweet, and decided to make a version for myself to hang in our closet.
Isn’t it fun? Here’s what I started with:
- frame
- fabric
- lace
- twigs
- hot glue gun
- staple gun
- jewelry
My first step was to staple my gray fabric to the back of the frame.
Once that was all on and the excess was cut off, I started with the lace. I’ve used this lace in our master bedroom {here, here and here} and love thought it would be great to carry it into the closet as well. I simply hot glued it in a zig zag pattern across the fabric. You could probably measure and space it evenly, but I just eyeballed it.
I did three rows, gluing as I went.
The last step was to attach the sticks. I grabbed some sticks that were somewhat thick down at the cabin last weekend. I wanted them to have some sort of weight to them to be able to hold my jewelry without snapping {you know, with all those massive jewels I own}. I cut and played around with the look until I found something I liked and simply hot glued them to the frame.
Then I hung it on the wall and started layering my jewelry.
I also stuck some broaches on the fabric. They add a little extra sparkle in the middle and are easy to find.
I also stuck some earrings on the lace. I need to get out the rest of my earrings and hang them on as well. It’s the perfect little holder for them.
I love how it ties in our bedroom and the rustic theme we love so much, but the best part was the cost-free! I got an old frame from my mom and had the fabric and lace around the house. The sticks are obviously free too:) What do you think? Would you hang your jewelry from sticks from the woods?

i love that you can hang your stud earrings on this and easily access the backs to remove them! i might just have to steal this idea for myself! i have a TON of jewelry!
Go for it, Gabbi! I needed a spot for the earrings-I am always losing the backs and am hoping this will help:)
That is a great idea and I love that the lace is not perfectly aligned. I also have a problem keeping my earrings together and am constantly digging in my jewelry box to find the ones that match! Good job!
Love this idea!
Thanks, Bess!
HMMMM, I am not eyeing the little tree in my backyard with a glint in my eye! I LOVE this:) We are (slowly) redoing our master bedroom and I have been looking at all the different jewelry boards all over blog land, they are nice but this is the one I think!! Thanks:)
umm, that was supposed to say “now eyeing the little tree” sorry!
Haha I knew what you meant:) I’m glad it was hepful! Good luck with your redo!
Beautiful and thank you for sharing how to make it!
