Coffee Mug Chocolate Cake

I’m sure you’ve probably heard of this cake before but it had been a couple years since we’ve made it and it was just as delicious as I remember it, so I thought I would spur your memories as well. The 5 Minute Chocolate Cake. With a name like that, you know it’s gonna be awesome. Mike and I used to make this all the time on occasion when our sweet tooths? teeth? we were craving something sweet and for some reason I had forgotten all about it until Sunday night when we were too lazy to make it to the grocery and had no dessert. How could we possibly go to bed without dessert? Don’t fear, the most delicious chocolate cake came to the rescue.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 2 tbs. cocoa
- 4 tbs. flour
- 4 tbs. sugar
- 3 tbs. chocolate chips
- a splash of vanilla
- 3 tbs. oil
- 3 tbs. milk
- 1 egg
- 2 {or 1} coffee mugs
Mix all the dry ingredients into a mug.
Then mix in the egg, milk, oil, vanilla, and chocolate chips.
We may have also tossed in some white chocolate chips leftover from last week’s dessert. Then pop into the microwave for 3 minutes and you are ready to go.
And just to let you know what desperate fatties we are, we also scraped the ice cream out of the middle of a couple 100 calorie ice cream sandwiches to top them off. Yep, it’s that bad.
Ok, chime in. Make us feel less pathetic. Who else has made this before? Ever scrounged for a satisfying dessert before and had no shame?
