Inspiration: Food

Is it weird that I’ve been inspired by food lately? Now that the weather is getting cooler {it was 43 this morning!}, I’ve had comfort food on the brain. Pinterest has had tons of good-looking recipes floating around lately that we’ve added to our cookbook and today I thought I would share some yummy new recipes that have been warming up the Hyde household.
First up, cheesy chicken lasagna.
This recipe {and picture} came from Real Mom’s Kitchen and is so yummy. It was just as good warmed up the next day at lunch.
Next, I made up this croc pot mac and cheese
This recipe came from A Whisk and A Prayer. I put a couple chicken breasts in with the macaroni to add some protein. I added some cayenne and Italian seasonings also. I could see this same method in a Mexican version {with green peppers and Mexican seasonings} or a cheeseburger-type meal with hamburger and cheddar cheese. This is definitely staying on our “keep list.”
The other “new” recipe I made this week was a little addition to this cookie recipe {which I also made as whoopie pies}:
We went to a rehearsal dinner on Friday night for one of Mike’s best friend’s wedding and they had these delicious three-chip cookies for dessert. They had butterscotch, white chocolate, and chocolate chips in them and they were scrumptious. So I decided to make them this week for our small group meeting at our house, using my recipe. Apparently at the grocery, I grabbed peanut butter chips instead of butterscotch but they were just as good so any combo of chips will work!
I’ve got lots more comfort foods ready to try and this one’s on the menu for next week:
I’ll let you know how it is!
Yummy! I love comfort food during the cold weather, which doesn’t happen much in Florida.
The dishes look delicious!

They were delicious! Maybe you’ll have a chilly evening that you can try them too:)
