Love Letters

Continuing on with our rustic romance bedroom theme, I made a sweet display of some letters Mike and I have written each other over the last few years to fill the wall above our bathroom door.
It’s simple and is a daily reminder of our love for each other. If you want to make one for yourself, here’s what you’ll need:
- cork board
- fabric
- lace
- tacks
- wooden “love” sign
- love letters
- staple gun
Start by covering your cork board with the fabric {I used inexpensive muslin fabric}. Just staple it to the back tightly.
Then, staple the lace {mine is left over from my lacy lamp} around the back edges.
I stained my wood “love” letters with this stain:
Then just gather some of the sweetest words you’ve ever written, ooh and ahh over how romantic you both are {or laugh at your attempts}, and tack the words to your board. You can be finished after that, or take it a step further. We decided to frame out the cork board to add some more of that rustic feel {and fill the empty wall space-have I told you we have super high ceilings in this room? Well, we do.}. We bought 2 standard boards from Home Depot for about $3 a piece and stained them with Minwax Special Walnut stain. Then Mike cut them and created a frame to put around the cork frame.
From there, we used wood glue and clamps to secure the pieces together.
And then just hung it on the wall. I love it. It ties in the nearby hanging agape letters, fills the space, reflects us, and is just plain pretty:)
Total for the cork board and fabric: $13. Total for the frame: about $6.
I’ve linked this up with The Shabby Chic Cottage.
Did I tell you about my Love Notes wall I created when I did my bedroom makeover? I primed a section between the bathroom door and closet door with magnetic paint. You can’t tell with the top coat over it, but I added vinyl lettering that says “Love Notes” and made a bunch of cute magnets that match our room to hold them up. TheDatingDivas.com recently had a download for little tiny love notes that were super cute.
No, you didn’t tell me but it sounds really cute! Magnetic paint is a great idea.
What a great way to display those letters. Great step by step tutorial!

I just found your site through Google, good study, going to sleep now since it’s very late but will check you out more within the morning.
I’m not sure precisely why but this site is loading very slow personally. Is anyone else having the situation or maybe would it be a difficulty with this computer? I will test it later on and find out if your issue still is present.
