Romantic Bedroom Art

I started work on our master bedroom last week and love how it’s coming together. It’s going to be warm, rustic, and romantic. Today I’m going to give you a sneak peak by sharing some artwork I made to go in the nook above our bedroom door. I started by buying three picture frames at Goodwill.
I took stain leftover from our bathroom vanity makeover, to darken the frames up.
Here you can see the difference between the one that is stained {left} and the one that wasn’t {right}.
I did the same with the green frame-once you add the stain, it looks almost black or dark brown.
Then I searched the internet for some romantic pictures and printed two off. {click to download for yourself}
For the third frame, I decided to do a little stenciling. I used some scrap fabric I had from another bedroom artwork I made {which will be shared later this week} and some red fabric paint I had laying around. I stenciled “PS I Love You” on the fabric and stuck it in the frame. Here they are all finished and hung.
My original plan was to hang the frames from lace in the middle of the nook, but once Mike got up there, there wasn’t a stud that would work to carry the weight of the frames so we had to just nail them into the back wall. I will still add a couple other items up there to bring some different depths into the space and cover the ugly vent fill it a little more but the frames already add a touch of the rustic romance look we are going for. We are also going to put some trim around the nook and frame it out to make it look more finished.
I will share some more art work, inspiration, and plans for this room later this week!
