Sectional Slipcover
April 17, 2011 | Posted by Jessie under Living Room, Sewing Projects |
Well it took me a whole weekend but I got our sectional slipcovered! I used the same gray as our love seat and added some white and gray pillows, along with the existing cream colored ones. Here it is before, brown, blah, and boring:
Pudge is clearly determined to be in every picture I take.
Still wrinkled with scraps of a stuffed animal toy Pudge shredded today, but I was too excited to post it to mess with it:) I have a follow-up post planned with more images, tips, tricks, and lessons learned coming later this week. For now, I’m going to go lay on our new pretty couch and enjoy my work.

Slipcover - beautifully done! Love your little camera hog or should I say camera dog. What a cutie!
Thanks, Monique! We love that little camera hog too:)
I LOVE it! I want to cover my sectional… I am having a really hard time figuring out how much fabric to buy … how much did you use???
I’ve seen guides to figuring out how much fabric to buy for different types of furniture (fabric.com has one) but I decided to just buy as I go because I knew I was going to try and cut some corners and had hopes of not getting as much as “they” recommend:) I ended up using about 17 yards for the whole thing-that includes the white and gray for all the pillows too. Hope that helps! Good luck with yours!
It does help! My couch has 2 sections that are each 3 cushions long plus the curved bend part in the middle… I think I need 30 yards, but it seamed like a lot … if you used 17 I KNOW I need at least 30! Thanks!
Wow, that sounds huge! Good luck:)
