Vanity

One of my projects on my March To-Do List is to work on our half-bath. It’s a small space so it doesn’t need a ton of work, but I want to add a little character. I started with the vanity. There was nothing really wrong with it but the wood was literally the exact same color as the floor and was just blah to me so I decided to give it a little makeover Here is the before:
And After:
Instead of the cookie cutter vanity, it’s now a fun, unique piece of furniture. I sanded all the doors and drawers (the top one is not really a drawer-it just pretends to be), primed, and then painted them with a white paint we already had. It took 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of paint. After I let that all dry overnight, I sanded some areas and used a staining technique. You put stain on a rag, and basically do the old wipe on, wipe off method until it’s the color you like. I love how it sticks to the edges and creases and gives it so much character. I’m still looking for the perfect hardware to finish it off but it already has a lot more personality.
Total for this project: $5 for the stain.
I linked this project up to Thrifty Decor Chick and:
What a difference! Looks really nice and very afforadable!!
Love it
Great transformation and I love the color you chose!
What a great makeover, doesn’t even look like the same vanity! Great job!

Love the new look. So many coats of paint… I’m impressed with your patience! Great job. Can’t wait to see it with the new hardware.
It looks great!
