Switcheroo

Instead of buying or making new items for your home, try rearranging. It’s crazy how awful something can look in one room and how nicely it can fit in another. We recently swapped some curtains from our bedroom and moved them to our dining room. The first ones I hung our room were bought for about $25 the day of our house-warming party a year and half ago. I needed something quick and cheap and they qualified. Needless to say, I’ve never loved them in there. When I recently made new ones for our bedroom I didn’t want to completely throw the old ones out though because the fabric was actually kind of pretty. They didn’t fit our room but I was determined to make them work somewhere. Here is how they looked in our bedroom (ignore my husband’s old, blue comforter. It didn’t last long-we upgraded soon after we got married):
And now in our dining room:
A perfect fit. They add a little shimmer to the room and took about 10 minutes to hang. I hot glued them to the panels above our blinds. Yep, hot glued. I didn’t want to spend any money on them so buying a rod was out. I just eyeballed it and folded and glued and folded and glued until they were imperfectly ruffled and hung beautifully. Then I took some scrap cream fabric I had and tied a little knot in the back and hot glued those to the wall as well.
I love them. What great room swaps have you made?
